Dean Patterson

Dean Patterson is the Senior Vice President of Operations at MBI Industrial Medicine. Dean has extensive experience leading employer health, injury care, and healthcare operations in the United States and abroad. As both a purchaser and provider of occupational health services, he offers a unique perspective in developing solutions that align employer needs with high-quality clinical outcomes and operational excellence.

At MBI, Dean oversees operations, sales, and information technology for a multi-state network of occupational health clinics. He leads strategic growth, operational performance, employer relationships, and financial results, while driving initiatives to improve workforce health outcomes and client satisfaction.

Throughout his career, Dean has led occupational medicine, employee health, and wellness programs worldwide, managing complex operations for healthcare systems, multinational corporations, and employer service organizations. His expertise includes occupational medicine, workers’ compensation, employer contracting, return-to-work strategies, healthcare consulting, and multi-site operational leadership. He is recognized for building sustainable growth platforms, enhancing financial performance, and developing innovative employer-focused healthcare solutions.

Before joining MBI, Dean held executive leadership roles at Mayo Clinic, Philip Morris International, Banner Health, and Unilever. His experience includes developing international occupational health strategies, implementing workforce health and safety programs for global manufacturing, expanding employer health service lines, and advising multinational organizations on employee health, productivity, and risk management.

Dean holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences (Biokinetics) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is an active member of several leading professional organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Society of Occupational Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health.
